The short version
ChangeGrows is a reading and reflection library, not a medical record system. We collect the small amount of information needed to run it: your account, the lines you save, the practices you check in on, any email you sign up for, and any message you send us.
We do not sell your information. We do not build profiles of your feelings. We do not ask you to tell us anything about your health.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, your name if you give one, and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.
- Your library: the quotes you save and any note you add to them.
- Morning practice: the date you marked a practice done and which prompt it was, so your streak adds up.
- Membership: whether your membership or trial is active, and the dates of your billing period.
- Teams: the team you joined, and the email used to hold a seat on it.
- Notes to team leads: anything you write in a team feedback note, plus an automatically read tone label (positive, neutral or concern) so leads can see a trend. You can send these anonymously; if you do, no name is stored with the note.
- Email subscriptions: the address you gave for the daily quote, and whether it is active or paused.
- Messages: anything you send through the contact form or a team enquiry, including your name, email and organization.
- Purchases: the product, amount, currency, and the reference your payment provider gives us. Payment card details are entered on the payment provider's page and are never sent to or stored by ChangeGrows.
- Basic technical information that any website receives, such as the pages you visit and the device or browser you used.
What we never collect
- No card or bank numbers. Those stay with the payment provider.
- No clinical notes, diagnoses, or client records. The therapist tools are meant to be a session aid, not a place to store anything about a client.
- No precise location tracking.
- Nothing about you from data brokers.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
Advertising and analytics cookies start switched off. On your first visit a banner asks whether you allow them, and nothing that tracks you is loaded until you say yes. Your choice is remembered in your browser and can be changed at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer.
If you say yes, we use Google AdSense, which may set cookies to show and measure ads. Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. If you say no, those cookies stay off and the consent signal is sent to Google as denied.
Signing in, keeping you signed in, and remembering your cookie choice all rely on essential cookies or browser storage. These are needed for the site to work and are not advertising.
Emails we send
- The daily quote, if you subscribed to it. Every one of those emails includes a way to stop them.
- Account emails: verification codes, password resets, and invitations.
- Membership emails: a reminder before a trial ends and confirmations related to your plan.
- For team leads only: a monthly summary of team activity. It contains totals and themes, never the text of individual notes and never who tapped what.
Payments
Memberships are charged by our payment provider, Base44 Payments, backed by Stripe. When you subscribe, you are taken to the provider's checkout page, which collects your card and billing details under its own privacy policy. ChangeGrows receives only the confirmation that a payment succeeded, the amount, the currency, and the subscription reference.
Who we share with
We share information only with the service providers that make the site run, and only what each one needs:
- Base44, which hosts the site, stores the data, and sends our emails.
- Stripe and Base44 Payments, for checkout and subscription billing.
- Google, for advertising and ad measurement, and only if you allowed cookies.
- Google and other search engines, which see the public pages of the site, as every public website allows.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety and rights of our readers and of ChangeGrows.
How long we keep it
Account information and saved quotes stay while your account is open. Practice check-ins and streaks stay so your history stays accurate, and are removed with your account. Contact messages and team enquiries are kept while we handle them and for a reasonable period afterward as a record of the conversation. Purchase and billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Your choices
- Ask us for a copy of the information tied to your account.
- Ask us to correct anything wrong.
- Ask us to delete your account and the information in it.
- Change or withdraw your cookie choice at any time.
- Unsubscribe from the daily quote with the link in any of those emails.
- Cancel a membership from your account page at any time.
To make any of these requests, write to us at the address at the end of this page. We answer within a reasonable period, and we may ask you to confirm you own the account before we act.
Security
Your data is stored with our hosting provider with encryption in transit, and passwords are stored hashed. Access to members-only content is checked on our servers, not just in the browser. No service can promise perfect security, but we keep the amount of information we hold small on purpose, because the safest data is the data never collected.
Children
ChangeGrows is written for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will remove it.
Not medical care
Nothing on this site is therapy, diagnosis, or medical advice, and using it does not create a professional relationship. If you are in crisis or in danger, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line right away.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, tell account holders by email.
